This Saturday, February 2nd, at approximately 11:00 EST, members of the Ontological Geek will be playing a game of Civilization V: Gods and Kings, and you are welcome to join us!
It may not be feasible to finish a game, but we’d like to play on standard pace for at least a good long while! Even if you can’t stay forever, if you want to play for the first few hours, you’re more than welcome.
You will need to have Civilization V and its expansion, Gods and Kings, though you do not necessarily need to have any of the DLC civilizations/wonders. We’ll take an inventory once we get started and play with as much DLC as we all share, of course.
Hopefully this goes without saying, but OntoGeek games are a safe place where anybody can play without fear of being belittled or bullied. Anybody behaving in an inappropriate manner will be vacated from the premises.
If you’d like to play, we have at least four slots left, though if there is a great deal of response, we can play a bigger game. Comment below or e‑mail us at email@example.com with the subject line “OntoGeek Civ V” to get signed up! If you have a preferred civilization, go ahead and call it in the comments/e‑mails — Civs will go first come first serve, and I’ll keep the list updated here:
1. Bill Coberly (OntoGeek Editor-in-Chief): Ethiopia/Haile Selassie
2. Matt Schanuel (OntoGeek Regular Columnist): France/Napoleon
3. Jarrod Hammond (OntoGeek Frequent Guest Writer): Celtia/Boudicca
4. Hannah DuVoix (OntoGeek Regular Columnist): Austria/Maria Theresa
We look forward to playing with you!
